nathan and jennifer
We are in our mid-thirties. Jennifer is a teacher and Nathan is a lawyer. We’ve come a long way – literally and metaphorically – we met twelve years ago at a television station where we were both anchors/reporters. Although we loved the adventure of being in the media, we wanted more career stability because were planning to get married and have a family. Thus, in 2000 we moved back east to Nathan's hometown where he attended law school and Jennifer took classes at night to get an education degree. In 2002 we married in Chicago in front of friends and family from around the world. In the years since we have not been able to have biological children of our own so we turned to adoption. It has proven to be a great way to build our family.
about us
What we can offer your child...
Your baby will have fun. He or she will be surrounded by family and a large network of close, loving family friends. We have always liked to travel. Before our son, we twice traveled to Europe and crisscrossed the U.S. from Florida to Alaska. Since we became parents Aiden has proven to be a great little traveler, visiting several states in the course of our adventures. For 2013, we are planning family trips to the beach and to go skiing. Our second child will join in these adventures.

We love holidays and go overboard celebrating them. For Christmas we decorate the house; put holiday songs on the stereo and hot chocolate on the stove. Grandparents bought a stocking that Aiden could literally stand in. Every Halloween Jennifer picks the perfect pumpkin straight from the patch where we meet family friends and the kids climb the mountains of pumpkins and run through the corn maze. Nathan has been known to get imaginative with the pumpkin carving. In addition to birthdays and traditional holidays, many big football weekends turn into mini-holidays in our house with friends coming over to watch the game and socialize. On weekends and holidays we are a slightly saner version of the Griswolds (from the Vacation movies).

Each of our children will have his or her own room, a big back yard, a park within walking distance, a neighborhood full of kids and a gazillion toys. He/she will have young, energetic and financially stable parents. We will have a sit down family dinner almost every night. Swimming lessons will be on Saturdays in the spring; we’re going skiing on snowy winter weekends and to the water park with mom on sweltering summer days. Four grandparents are on permanent standby, ready to spoil their next grandchild.
Education and family values have been priorities in our families. Both sets of our parents have been married for more than 35 years. Our grandparents remained together until death did them part, and Nathan's grandmother (“Gigi” to Aiden) is still with us. Our close family circle includes a lawyer, engineer, Ph. D., scientist, judge and several educators. Our family members have been fortunate to be able to attend some of the best colleges in the country. We believe in hard work, commitment and the golden rule. Your baby will be raised in a safe, friendly neighborhood with top notch schools and the opportunity to go to college.
